Etihad Cargo, the wholly-owned division of the UAE’s national carrier, Etihad Airways was awarded ‘Cargo Airline of the Year’ at this year’s Air Transport News Awards, hosted in Geneva, Switzerland on 21st March.

The awards, which are decided by a panel of industry experts cited the airline’s commitment to developing the global freight market, through the expansion of new routes, exclusive to the airline’s cargo arm, which include Chittagong, Djibouti, Dubai World Central, Eldoret, Guangzhou, Houston, Kabul, Miami, Quito, Sharjah, Viracopos and most recently Hanoi.

Speaking on behalf of the airline, Kevin Knight, Etihad Airways’ chief strategy and planning officer, said; “We are honoured to receive this award in recognition of our commitment to working closely with our partners across the industry, ensuring our customers have greater access to new routes and services that enhance their two-way flow of trade and commerce between key and the emerging markets across our global network.”
