Dubai Chambers to aid the expansion of local private sector businesses through Dubai International Chamber.

Dubai International Chamber, a key division within Dubai Chambers, Dubai’s trade and business support organization, has unveiled its strategic plan to aid the global expansion of local private sector enterprises as part of the recently launched ‘New Horizons’ initiative. During a special meeting held at Dubai Chambers’ headquarters, representatives from member companies were provided with updates on the latest developments, including the successful trade missions to Central Asia, the United Kingdom, and South Africa conducted in the first half of 2023.

    Roadshows to explore business opportunities

In line with its commitment to fostering international growth for member companies, Dubai Chamber is set to organize roadshows aimed at exploring business opportunities in various regions. This year, the focus will be on Asia, Europe, and East and West Africa. Moreover, plans are in place to target the Baltic region, ASEAN countries, Turkey, and other African markets in 2024.

A vital role in Dubai’s trade goals

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, commented, “Dubai Chambers remains committed to supporting its members on their global expansion journeys in strategic markets worldwide. The New Horizons initiative assists in driving the international growth of member companies and will play a vital role in achieving Dubai’s goal of increasing non-oil foreign trade to AED2 trillion by 2026, in line with the emirate’s five-year trade plan. We aim to help 100 Dubai businesses expand globally by the end of 2024.”

Dubai Chambers – Past successes and future endeavors

The New Horizons initiative has already achieved notable milestones. The inaugural roadshow in March targeted Central Asia, covering Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. Subsequent trade missions included visits to the Retail Technology Show in London in April and SAITEX in Johannesburg in June. The combined delegations comprised 38 companies, and over 550 business meetings were arranged during these roadshows, fostering potential partnerships and discussions to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation.

Through the New Horizons initiative, companies gain invaluable first-hand knowledge about establishing and operating businesses in priority markets, empowering them to venture confidently into international trade missions.

By providing comprehensive support and access to key markets, Dubai Chamber is paving the way for local businesses to thrive on the global stage. With upcoming roadshows and continuous efforts, the ‘New Horizons’ initiative is poised to drive the international growth of member companies, contributing significantly to Dubai’s economic objectives.
