The Alkremeya B2B platform enhances efficiency for Libyan shopkeepers.

In the evolving landscape of Libyan commerce, Libyan procurement and startup platform Alkremeya is emerging as a pioneering force, redefining how shopkeepers procure wholesale goods. Established in October 2023, this B2B grocery e-commerce platform bridges the gap between retailers and suppliers, fostering a more efficient and transparent supply chain.

“Our platform offers convenience, transparency, and efficiency, eliminating the need for shopkeepers to visit multiple suppliers physically. Alkremeya ensures a streamlined experience with an intuitive interface, reliable delivery services, and flexible payment options,” said Fasih Ullah, the startup’s co-founder. “Currently, there are no major players in Libya offering a similar level of service, though international e-commerce platforms indirectly compete with us. Our localised approach and understanding of market dynamics set us apart.”

    Addressing Market Inefficiencies

Traditionally, procurement in Libya often involves shopkeepers navigating multiple suppliers, leading to time-consuming and costly processes. Alkremeya has identified this challenge and introduced a digital solution that connects retailers directly with importers and large wholesalers. This approach not only streamlines operations but also ensures access to competitive wholesale prices, eliminating the need for physical visits to various suppliers.

    User-Centric Platform Features

Alkremeya’s platform is designed with user convenience at its core. It offers an intuitive interface complemented by reliable delivery services and flexible payment options. Since its inception, the platform has onboarded over 500 shopkeepers, many of whom now rely on Alkremeya as their primary inventory source. The positive feedback underscores the platform’s role in enhancing operational efficiency and profitability for retailers.

    Strategic Expansion Plans

While currently focused on strengthening its presence within Libya, Alkremeya has ambitious plans for regional growth. Recognizing similar supply chain challenges in neighboring markets, the company aims to expand into Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman by 2025-2026. This strategic move is poised to replicate its success and address procurement inefficiencies across the region.

Alkremeya stands at the forefront of transforming Libya’s retail supply chain. By leveraging technology to connect shopkeepers directly with suppliers, it not only streamlines procurement processes but also fosters a more competitive and efficient marketplace. As Alkremeya sets its sights on regional expansion, its innovative model serves as a blueprint for modernizing retail operations in similar markets.
