Jetstream Africa, a Ghanaian startup, has introduced Jetvision.ai, an AI-powered logistics platform designed to streamline cross-border trade and enhance supply chain management in Africa.

Local banks will leverage Jetvision.ai to extend trade finance products to creditworthy businesses. Initially focusing on West Africa, this initiative aims to facilitate smoother trade transactions.

Jet Stream Africa – Streamlining supply chain operations

Jetstream Africa, established in 2018 by Miishe Addy and Solomon Torgbor, began its journey by offering a Less Than Container Load (LCL) aggregation service in Ghana. Since then, it has evolved to help African businesses effectively manage cross-border supply chains. According to the company, it facilitated the logistics and financing of over 700 containers in 2023, and has plans to expand into Africa’s 13 highest-volume trading markets over the next two years.

    Revolutionizing logistics with AI

The company’s new tool, Jetvision.ai, integrates AI-powered process automation, document management, and API integrations to optimize logistics and financing for freight forwarders and businesses across Africa. Previously, Jetvision was an internal tool that allowed it to increase monthly shipment volumes per customer by 44%. Torbgor stated that, before using Jetvision, the company’s internal operations relied on spreadsheets, emails, and group chats. After introducing Jetvision internally, he claimed, the ground operations teams embraced it, and within a few weeks, it became the team’s go-to for shipment tracking and management.

    A catalyst for efficiency

Jetstream Africa’s CEO, Miishe Addy, envisions AI integration as a catalyst for improving logistics efficiency and empowering businesses across the continent. The AI tool is available to “Africa’s 50,000 freight forwarders and 2 million export and import businesses, who move the continent’s supply chain forward,” Addy said in a LinkedIn post. According to Addy, incorporating AI into Jetstream’s operations will not only improve logistics and financing, but will also empower businesses.

Before launching, Jetstream Africa had already closed a USD 3 million seed round table in 2021 to build digital infrastructure for Africa’s trade environment. With recent funding injections, including a $13 million pre-Series A funding round in 2023, Jetstream Africa is poised to expand its footprint and drive Africa’s trade forward.
