SCZONE signs new industrial and logistics deals in Qantara West and Sokhna, bolstering export manufacturing, jobs, and global partnerships.

    New Industrial Investments

On August 27, SCZONE (General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone) signed two industrial deals in Qantara West. Sun Garden (a maker of outdoor furniture from Germany) will build a $7 million facility on 30,000 sqm, creating 500 direct jobs with 90% of output for export. SCZONE Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dien said: “This new investment by Sun Garden marks the first German industrial project in Qantara West Industrial Zone, and reflects the growing confidence of international investors in SCZONE’s investment climate. It adds significant value to our localization and industrial integration strategy. The project also complements the existing ecosystem of textile and garment industries in Qantara West….”

“SCZONE is not merely an industrial cluster, but a comprehensive development platform that places sustainability at the heart of its strategy,” said Gamal El-Dien. Recent signings across textiles, garments and logistics show how that vision is translating into projects and jobs.

A second agreement with Greece’s Tzanidakis Miaxah Marinos Co. to produce clothing covers a 7,000 sqm ready-made garments project, investing $4 million, targeting 1,000 jobs and exporting 70% of production. “We are proud of SCZONE’s success in attracting its first Greek industrial investment,” Gamal El-Dien noted.

    Logistics Expansion Across Two Zones

SCZONE also signed with a logistics JV, ‘SIGMA Egypt’, with the Arab Organization for Industrialization, United Egy Group (Egypt), Sigma Logistics & Containers (Turkey) and Logi Trade (Turkey) to operate two customs-bonded container yards split between Qantara West and Sokhna (total 100,000 sqm; $4.2 million; ~100 jobs). Gamal El-Dien said these projects “mark a qualitative leap in logistics integration within SCZONE, reducing supply chain costs [and] improving container handling efficiency.”

    Major Textile Commitments

Everfar Textile Egypt LLC of China will develop an integrated manufacturing hub on 145,000 sqm in Qantara West, investing $130 million and creating 3,200+ direct jobs with 100% export orientation. “This new project by Everfar represents one of the largest textiles and garment manufacturing ventures signed within SCZONE,” said Gamal El-Dien. A separate Turkish deal with Nil Örme San. ve Tic. A.Ş. adds a $35 million textiles/garments facility on 33,000 sqm, targeting ~2,000 jobs and exporting 90% of output.

    Project Counts and Pipeline

According to reports, after the Sun Garden signing, SCZONE was home to 37 operational projects in Qantara West with $1bn+ investments and 52,705+ jobs created.

Additional pipeline notes include a textile project in Sokhna by CWA Company and a $22.6m Changzhou Ramada textile plant in West Qantara.
