    Ambassadors of Algeria and Indonesia Received by Bahrain Chamber

    The Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Sameer Nass, yesterday received the Ambassador of Algeria to Bahrain His Excellency Abdelhamid Ahmed Khodja, and the Indonesian Ambassador to Bahrain His Excellency, Ardi Hermawan, at the Chamber’s headquarters. The meeting took place in the presence of Treasurer Aref Hijris and Acting Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdulla Al Sada.

    Algeria and Bahrain enjoy strong relations

    Nass paid tribute to the strong relations between Bahrain and Algeria, while highlighting the need to work toward further stimulating trade and business cooperation between the two countries, and to encourage partnerships between both business communities. Nass highlighted the potential of tourism, financial services, industry, food security, construction and urban development as potential areas of cooperation between the two nations and their private sectors.

    The need for cooperation

    In return, Ambassador Khodja spoke about Bahrain’s honest and commendable dealings with Algeria, and the strong relations that bound the two countries. Khodja talked about the development projects in his country and a new investment law that will soon be launched, which aims at encouraging foreign investments and streamlining business and trade. Khodja also called upon the Bahraini business community to participate in exhibitions and functions taking place in Algeria, in order to explore investment and partnership opportunities.

    Stepping up trade and partnerships

    Speaking to Hermawan, the Indonesian Ambassador, Nass hailed the strong and friendly ties between Bahrain and Indonesia, while expressing the keenness of the Bahraini business community to step up trade and partnership between the two countries. He highlighted promising opportunities in the fields of education and training and food security, while affirming the readiness of the Bahrain Chamber to liaise with business owners from both sides to facilitate all business endeavors.

    From his side, Ambassador Hermawan praised the existing relations and cooperation between Bahrain and Indonesia across all sectors, and called for the consolidation of efforts between the Bahrain Chamber and its Indonesian counterpart to foster partnerships and encourage trade. He also highlighted the need to hold joint meetings and business functions, and exchange business delegations to step-up business relations.

    Bahrain’s leading exports to Algeria

    The latest publicly available figures put iron, steel and aluminum as Bahrain’s leading exports to Algeria, followed by electrical components.
